Abstract

This study discusses and researches coherence in Kurdish language, identifying these types of coherences, which create harmony and integrity of text understanding through lexical items, pragmatic meanings and textual dimensions. In this research, drawing on cohesion theories, another semantic category is reformulated. The study also evaluates various theories of cohesion that have been used in text analysis in the past.

In accordance with the results obtained in this study, on the one hand, we have hypothesized a new category of semantic cohesion. On the other hand, Deixis have been considered an important part of the coherence process.

also coherence, of all three types has been used in different ways in Kurdish texts. The cohesion process is not only achieved through grammatical or lexical items,, but also pragmatic and textual dimensions are involved in providing the act of cohesion.
