Abstract

The phenomenon of social network addiction has attracted the attention of many specialists and researchers because, it has made a problem in the field of mental health, Based on those facts, the aim of this study is measuring social network addiction among the Soran University students, and the difference between them by the variable of (Gender, education stage, and specialty). The researchers have established the social network addiction scale that is consists of 18 items. This scale was applied to 600 students from Soran University in science and humanities. Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) was used to analyze the data. The results indicated a high level of social network addiction and statistically significant differences in (gender and education stage) in terms of social network addiction but, there wasn’t any difference in the variable of (specialty). Hence, the researchers have analyzed those results, based on the study findings, and a number of recommendations can be devoted to carrying out further study.
