The institutional metonymy in the title of Rudaw newspaper's speeches

Institution metonymy is one of the types of metonymy. In this metonymy, the name of a place or a person is used instead of a formal institution. The area of journalism is one of the areas in which the metonymy phenomenon is used.
This research has proved through analysing selected data that each three types of institution metonymy are observed in the discourses titles of Rudaw newspaper. Generally, (49) linguistic unit out of all titles as institution metonymy represented. Institution metonymy in the form of (using place instead of institutions) forms (59.2%) of institution metonymy. In addition, (Using institution instead of its members or constituent) forms (34.7%) and (using person instead of institution) form of (6.1%) institution metonymy.
