Abstract

Floods are one of the most important natural disasters that cause great damage to human communities in different parts of the world every year. The geometric characteristics of drainage are important in flood research and assessment In the absence of statistical data, they play the most important role in hydrological estimates, although the analysis of morphometric parameters is considered an appropriate tool to estimate the flood capacity of water bodies. Garmian region due to its geographical location that is located in a semi-arid region and has a lot of changes in the annual rainfall that can increased the risk. About 31 aquifers in the region have been studied morphometrically and hydrologically, with the aim of determining the flood potential of secondary aquifers.
