Abstract

The impact of the oil industry depends on the type of technology used, amount, time and method of production, the level of impact and environmental degradation will be different ، Our aim in this study is to demonstrate the negative impacts of the oil industry on the increased levels of nitrogen dioxide in the air of Kirkuk province, through the use of Sentinal-5p image , It will investigate the amount, size and level of risks of this gas on the air in Kirkuk province and analyze it based on the results obtained, The amount of nitrogen dioxide in the atmosphere of Kirkuk province in 2021 to 2023 was between 48 to 65 parts per cubic meter, while the main source of NO2 emissions is the oil fields, which compared to other areas between 0 to 48 parts was
