Abstract

The land of Kirruri is generally located in the Harir plain and its surrounding areas, and we hear about their campaigns in Kirruri and the districts beyond its passes in the royal inscriptions of the Middle and Neo-Assyrian kings, as well as in the Assyrian limmu, which refers to several governors of Kirruri who were appointed by the Assyrian kings. Many studies were conducted on the geography of Kirruri and its surrounding areas.

This paper will be the first to deal with all the Assyrian administrative and economic records in this region.

In this paper, we will deal with a number of research questions, to see how many Assyrian administrative and economic records deal with this region. What are the contexts of these records, and will we attempt to analyze their political and cultural contexts?
