The Impact of Sustainable Agricultural Development on Economic Growth And Sustainable Development in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq

Abstract

The research aimed to propose a strategy for sustainable agricultural development and its impact on economic growth and sustainable development in the Kurdistan Region - Iraq by identifying the analysis of the strategic reality of sustainable agricultural development. In order to achieve the sustainable goals, the researcher relied in his research on combining the comparative approach and the analytical descriptive approach and according to the appropriate places required by the research, as a comprehensive analysis of the indicators of sustainable agricultural development for the periods in which the data is available, and the researcher also used several research methods, such as previous studies, reports and statistics, The research community included the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources of the Kurdistan Regional Government with regard to statistics and special agricultural data. The researcher relied on diagnosing and defining the existing (current) strategy and building the proposed strategy. The researcher reached a set of results that indicate weak sustainability and integration in agricultural development, and suggested the researcher has some solutions and improvements to reach development, sustainability and integration in the agricultural sector in the Kurdistan Region - Iraq based on the results of the first goal, distributed over three strategic stages (agricultural renaissance, integrated agriculture, and sustainable agriculture). The researcher recommended that the Kurdistan Regional Government, represented by the Ministry of Agriculture, should adopt the proposed strategy.
