The research investigates the impact of climate change on the migration of the population in Erbil province, Ashti district as a model, to prove this the researchers relied on the elicitation and analytic method to show the impact of climate elements and its phenomena, represented by rain and temperature, then to analyze of the percentage of clear migration in the study area at the urban and rural levels and highlighted the factors that led to the migration of the population of the region, such as lack of water resources and decrease in agricultural production and livestock and challenging agricultural development because of the climate change, the research divides into three sections, as follows: the first section tackles the climate change, and the second section shows the impact of the climate change on population migration, and the third section deals with the reasons behind the migration of the population.
The study sums up a number of conclusions, most notably that the study area, particularly its rural area, is a population expulsion during the study period. Climate change has a significant impact on the decline in water resources, the reduction of areas planted with wheat and barley crops, and the decline in the number of livestock in the area, thus resulting in the constant migration and displacement of the population from the study area.
