Apply structural functional theory on family in Kurdish society
When human beings gathered as groups in a communal lifestyle, family occurred as an important element of their lives: the importance of family reflected on their lives and development steps. That is Why scholars have been researching it. Sociology has been one of the majors that study family, more specially the theorists of structural functionalism. This study aims to apply structural functionalism theory on family on Kurdistan society which is the population of study itself, it also shows up the structure and function of family in reality. It’s an analytical theoretical research that uses qualitative approach based on analyzing theoretical text. The theory interprets family as an organ in the society that has connections with all other agencies, and see family as a tool of social control in the society. In addition to that, it says that any change or movement within individuals lives, there is going to a change on the family patterns. The main results which came out from the study are, firstly, a first social group that individuals live in and meet their needs through is family. Everyone needs families’ help to continue in social life.
