The battle of badr in the book of knowledge (Ibn qutaybah alــ dinawari (276AH/890AD ) a histotical and analytical study

Abstract

The battle of badr (624AD) is a shining and proud moment in Islamic history. It has attracted the attention of historians and researches in this field, as it was one of the pivotal battles in history, in which the messanger of GOD (peace and blessings be upon him) in the second year of the prophet’s hijra. The participation of his leadership of the nation in strengthing the pillars of islam and spreading it throughout the Arabian peninsula.The book of (Alــ  ma’arifa) by (ibn qutaybah alــdinawari) is one of the most important sources that comprehensively and accurately discusses the events, introductions,and outcomes of this immortal battle, it is a primary reference for researchers and those interested in history.The reaserch includes three main lines. The first deals with the most important reasons and motives that led to the outbreak of this battle and the military efforts of the participants, both polytheists and muslims. The second section deals with the results of this battle, The most important of whice were the killing of the prominent leaders of the polytheistsand. The third line deals with the prisoners and those killed in this war, whice was one of the most important results of this battle. The reference to the results of this battle is based on the book (Alــ  ma’arif) mentioned above, with reference to this book with the historical sources and references that dealt with this battle.
