The Tourist Potentials of the Mountainous Regions - Suran District as a Model The aim of the research is to determine the tourist potentials of the mountainous regions in general and to determine the tourist potentials of (Suran) district as part of a mountainous region. The importance of research comes from: 1 - Tourism is an important global economic activity. International tourism receipts reached (1260) billion US$ in 2015 and the number of international tourists in the same year reached (1186) million tourists, (16%) of the world's population, and is expected to reach (1809) million tourists in 2030. 2 - The importance of (Mountain Tourism), which contributes (15-20%) of the global tourism industry.3 - The mountainous region constitutes a large proportion of (Southern Kurdistan) area, more than (31%), and the (Soran) district is located within the entire mountain region.
The district of (Soran) has important tourist potentials, in the case of investment well, can play a major role in the development of tourism in the district and the Kurdistan Region. To achieve the objectives of the research and because of the nature of its subject, it was found appropriate, in addition to the introduction, conclusions and recommendations, classified as follows: The first axis: Definition of concepts and clarifying their concepts. The second axis: the tourist potentials of the mountainous regions. The third axis: the tourist potentials of (Suran) district.Downloads
