Abstract

This study entitled (Genitive Morpheme and Cliticisation Tests in Kurdish Language) is an attempt to identify the tests that can prove Cliticisation and Non-Cliticisation of an item in language. Likewise, it provides an insight into the confirmation of Cliticisation and Non-Cliticisation of Genitive Morpheme in Kurdish Language. In so doing, the researcher has taken advantage of both Zwicky and Pullum’s Criteria and experience to verify whether Genitive Morpheme in Kurdish is a Clitic or an Affix?

The results of the tests involving five tests have proved that the Genitive Morpheme follows four tests and excludes one. Thus, the study concluded that it is regarded as a clitic.
