Abstract

 Narrative and structural theories study the components of novel, the most prominent of which is the “Novel Character " component, as it is the first thing that occupies the writer's mind at the starting of the novel. The novelist uses some characters to express what is on its mind of imagines to embody the idea, and through the characters of the novel, the reader can understand the events and the course of the narrative work.

On the basis of this importance that the character plays in the narrative construction, we chose it hoping that we will answer a number of questions that are summarized in the following:

What does the character represent?

- What are the types and classifications of the character in the novel?

- How did the characters appear to us in the novel "Mahabad, a Homeland of Fog"? What are the psychological, social, external and intellectual dimensions of its formation?
