Abstract

This study attempts to analyse and find out the approach of writing online and face to face. The study conducted at Soran University, Kurdistan Region in northern Iraq. The data collected through the questionnaire. The attendants were 100 students of the second and fourth year, faculty of Arts, department of English. The questionnaire consisted of 10 questions about online learning and its advantages and challenges compared to their counterparts in traditional learning face to face mode. The data revealed that students, in general, tend to have the desire to participate in educational courses over the internet (online mode) because it facilitates the learners a lot of opportunities in their academic life, in addition to time, place and cost while other student's preferred traditional study because of interaction, social status, academic rigour and communication. Similar to distance learning, the results of excellence and speed of learning and the rate of Registration and success expanded more than it is traditional study. The results indicated that the students preferred online writing mode in their learning and teaching approaches. The finding increases student's awareness towards online writing and its sustainable growth in academic spheres, however,  to create a generation that preserves to be critical learners.
