The Effectiveness of Group Works in English Language Classrooms: Soran University as an Example

الملخص

The aim of this study is to observe the effectiveness of using groups in English language classes. Group working is a meaning-making process where teacher, learner, content and environment are at play. The aim of group working is to use the functions of language; learners in groups exchange ideas with each other, also encourage, help and challenge each other which make them critical and creative thinker. This study examines second and third stage learners at faculty of Arts, Soran University through a designed questionnaire. The study reveals that the teachers should pay more attention to the principles of group working.
