The Treaty of Lausanne in the Ottoman Official Newspapers of 1923

Abstract

The Treaty of Lausanne was formed as a result of the events of World War I (1914-1918) and the Treaty of Sevres (1920). Based on the interests of the Victorious countries or Victorious powers, the borders of the Middle East have been redefined International political and economic relations have been reshaped. Within the framework of the provisions of the Treaty of Lausanne, the borders of a new state have been defined for the Republic of Turkey. Thus, the Treaty of Lausanne has had a greater impact than other events and agreements of the twentieth century. Much of the events related to the Treaty of Lausanne were published in the newspapers of its time, which were the only channel of news and information in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, have more or less played an active role in people's feelings and consciousness, to become aware of it Most of the events between the year in which the Treaty of Lausanne was signed are the subject of this study. The aim of this study is to understand and obtain information on the Treaty of Lausanne, in this regard; we have tried to obtain as much information as possible on the attitudes and policies of the participating countries in the newspapers of that time.
