The issue of the Mosul vilayet that so called the Mosul question was one of the most complicated matters during the course of negotiations at the Lausanne Conference. This question did not settle at the conference, but it was finally resolved through the involvement of the League of Nations. The ethnic ground consideration was one of the most significant parts of discussion, as the disputed parties of Britain and Turkey aimed to use it in their interests and purposes. To this end, both sides tried to influence the question and support their standpoints, through providing their own statistics, unreasonable and inaccurate justifications. So, this research aims to investigate this issue. In two main sections, this research attempts to discuss the question of the Mosul vilayet at the conference and then considering the ethnic ground in the negotiations. Thereafter, it worked on analyzing the topics and information of memorandums and reports which were considered in the discussions by disputed parties.
