Abstract

Hamazi kingdom/city was an important ancient kingdom/city in the east of Tigris. The cuneiform texts show that it had a great character among the cities in the land of Subartu on the east bank of the Tigris. It must be mentioned that Hamazi first appeared in the pre-Sargonic records, and was mentioned in the Sargonic, Ur III and Old Babylon records.

The paper deals with the historical background and important role of this city in the various periods in Mesopotamia according to the cuneiform records. Besides that, the research presents information about the location of the city and shows all of these texts, which mentioned the toponym in these different periods in Mesopotamia
