Modernizing Payment Methods in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq; Challenges and Opportunities for "My Account" Project Implementation

The study aims to investigate the challenges and opportunities as an evaluation of the (My Account) project. This project is one of the new government cabinet projects which aims to revolutionize the prevailing payment systems by introducing electronic means, offering individuals the convenience of ATMs and virtual cards for conducting transactions. The study explores the challenges and opportunities associated with the "My Account" project, a new government initiative aiming to revolutionize payment systems in the Kurdistan Region. The methodology includes a hypothesis-driven approach and centres on a questionnaire distributed to a sample of 230 customers and 206 bank staff were selected through a meticulous application of random sampling techniques, securing a representative cross-section of the population. Data collection was anchored in self-administered surveys that were thoughtfully crafted to glean nuanced quantitative insights.
