Identifying the Central Business District (CBD) of Sulaymaniyah City based on activity and value criteria: A study in urban geography

The aim of the research is to identify the central business area in the city of Soran and show its spatial features. In the hope that this study is a gesture to the competent authorities and the municipality of Soran to focus and attention to this vital part, the study tried to answer some questions including: Where is the central business area, and what are the economic and location characteristics of the region, and The extent of the horizontal extension, the degree of its mixing and its functional relevance to other uses The research plan consisted of three main axes: reviewing the literature and research methodology and discussing the results and conclusions. Finally, the study found that the boundaries of the area include (Gulan, Praiti, chami Rizan, Hendrin and Galala Complex) to reach an area of ​​(1,345) km 2 which constitutes (2,789%) of the total area of ​​the city of Soran (48,2178) km which is Concentrate the highest values ​​of commercial land and highest selling values ​​in addition to the most pedestrian  and  automobile  movement.
