چکیده

This research explains the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) phenomenon of conflict theory using the theoretical descriptive method of Karl Marx, Max Weber, and Georg Simmel. ISIS is known as a radical and fundamental group of Islamic extremists. In June 2014, ISIS took over many of the territories of Syria, Iraq and Iraqi Kurdistan. Upon control of these areas, they declared an Islamic caliphate. All three conflict theories have suitable elements for the explanation of ISIS; Using the conflict theory of those three sociologists, they came to a conclusion that Max Weber’s conflict theory was the most appropriate theory to explain the ISIS phenomenon.
