This research, based on Norman Fairclough's Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) framework, investigates the "construction" of environmental discourse in the "Karamee" textbook series, which is taught at the primary education stage in the Kurdistan Region. By analyzing three selected samples from three different stages (grades 2, 5, and 8), the research concludes that the official educational discourse systematically produces an ideology wherein the responsibility for environmental problems is shifted from systemic actors to individual morality and thought. Moreover, the research reveals how environmental protection is employed as an instrument for instilling other values like patriotism and loyalty to the system, a crucial strategy within a nation-building context that ultimately serves to maintain the authority's hegemony.
