The Rhyme in the Poems of Mala Khidir Dashti

Rhyme is one of the most prominent fundamental elements of poetry and has held significance across all stages of poetic development. This research, titled “The Rhyme in the Poems of Mala Khidir Dashti”, aims to uncover the role and artistic features of the rhyme in Mala Khidir Dashti’s poetry. It seeks to understand how and to what extent the rhyme and its artistic features are employed. The study adopts the descriptive-statistical method. To analyze the frequency and features of the hemistich, SPSS version 25 was used.
Across all of Dashti’s poems, 13 different rawi patterns were identified, with considerable importance placed on pre- rawi and post- rawi placement. This highlights the poet’s strong involvement in the musical structuring of poetry. At the lexical level, only post- rhyme was observed. Among the types of rhymes, unified rhymes, mathnawi rhymes, stanza-linked rhymes, and double rhymes were used. In many instances, the rhymes were employed for the purpose of creating rhythm, without strictly adhering to their formal rules and intricacies.
