This study examines the genitive linker in Kurdish by analyzing the grammatical and semantic structures found in the collected examples. To identify and describe how the genitive linker functions, the research uses Goldberg’s Construction Grammar (1995) as its main theoretical framework. This model allows an analysis that combines both semantic and grammatical perspectives. To keep the study focused, the data is limited to two poetry collections by Abdullah Pashew: Salm Pola and Kanarîş Dûr. In Kurdish, the genitive linker has only one morphological form, but it expresses several different meanings. Because of this, Construction Grammar is a suitable approach for showing and explaining these various meanings. The analysis shows that the poet uses the genitive linker in several ways. Among these, the possessive meaning is the most common, while the comparative meaning appears the least. These patterns reflect part of the poet’s personal poetic style.
