In the era of modernity, alongside the rise of the industrial revolution and the widespread emergence of various machines and automobiles, the exploitation of natural resources has accelerated. Consequently, environmental restoration and rehabilitation efforts have become increasingly strained, leading to a disruption of ecological balance and alarming rates of environmental degradation. Environmental issues have thus become a global priority, transcending national borders. While some causes are natural, human activities are major contributors to environmental pollution. Therefore, it is important to emphasize that the concept of the environment warrants further exploration, particularly in relation to this study of the culture of environmental protection in the Barzan region, which has drawn significant societal attention. This research raises several questions regarding the environment and its risks, as well as how environmental protection culture has become a key element in preserving nature in the region. From the outset, the study defined its objectives: to explore the concept of the environment, understand its significance for the local population, and identify community cultural practices related to environmental protection. Finally, the research aims to examine the culture of environmental protection with respect to key variables such as gender, occupation, education level, age, and livelihood. Additionally, the study seeks to deepen understanding of the environment, its risks, and the responsibilities involved in its protection by exploring concepts such as environmental awareness, environmental culture, and the broader notion of the environment.
