Sassanian Pottery in Gird-i Kazhaw in the Sharezur Plain (Analytic field research)

Gird-i Kazhaw is located in the east of Bestansur village in the Sharezur plain, this Tell had been excavated in two seasons in 2015-2016 by a joint German team and a Kurdish team from directorate of antiquities of Sulaimani, during the excavation an important level discovered there.
This paper deals with the discovered Sassanian pottery in Gird-i Kazhaw, their decorations, their types, and their distributions. The decorations on the Sassanian ceramics of this site performed with incising, carving, adding, molding, painting, and also the seal impressions on the Sassanian jars bear several types of decorations. We categorized them according to their subjects. We also studied the fabrics of the Sassanian ceramics in Kazhaw. In this paper we compare the Sassanian pottery of Kazhaw with the other contemporary Sassanian examples that were discovered in the other Sassanian sites in the Sharezur plain and the other sites in the regions in Mesopotamia, the Zagros and Iran.
