Shamlu Ware is one of the most common ware in the territories of Sharezur plain, Sulaimani city, Bazian plain and Sharbazher valleys. This type of Ware was called Shamlu by al-Janabi after its first discovery of this type of ware at Gird-i Shamlu in Sharezur plain in early 1960s.
This paper deals with the Shamlu Ware and its spread according to the most recent discoveries during the surveys and archaeological excavations by the local, foreign teams and also by the authors of this paper.
We will try to date this type of ware and its chronology; also we will study its fabric, shapes, decorations etc. More importantly we will try to discuss the research questions about the source of this type of ware, and which group of people produced it?
