Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the subject matter and the message of the reports on Kurdish satellite channels that are used to direct visitors for touristic attractions in Erbil province. The study is descriptive, and mapping (content analysis) theory is used for the data analysis process. The samples are taken from the entire reports of Kurdish satellite channels such as: Kurdistan TV, Kurdsat News, and Spedah. Travel news reporte on the targeted channels are specifically focused for data collection.The study concludes that the channels have successfully broadcasted tourism news, touristic attractions, and the beauty of touristic places in Erbil province.
