This qualitative case study examined the challenges faced by English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners at the university level when working on speaking projects outside of class. The study also intended to suggest potential solutions to address these challenges. The study selected 16 EFL students from Soran University using convenience sampling. It utilized observation and semi-structured interviews as research methods for data collection. The challenges that have been identified vary across various domains, including environmental, individual, educational, and social, which can have negative repercussions on the implementation of the project. The study's findings provided solutions to overcome these challenges, emphasizing the importance of addressing them to improve the success of out-of-class speaking projects.
