The Manifestation of the Iraqi Style in Wafayi's Kurdish Poetry

Abstract

Owing to the long-standing literary relationship between Kurdish and Persian literature and the profound influence of Persian literature on the Kurdish literary tradition, a number of literary styles and stylistic conventions that flourished in Persian literature were adopted into Kurdish literature and became evident in the works of Kurdish poets. This study, entitled "The Manifestation of the Iraqi Style in Wafayi's Kurdish Poetry," seeks to examine the manifestations of the Iraqi Style in Wafayi's poetry. To achieve this objective, the study employs a descriptive-analytical approach. It explores the linguistic, literary, and intellectual characteristics of the Iraqi Style as reflected in Wafayi's Kurdish ghazals. The findings indicate that Wafayi is among the poets who followed the Iraqi Style and that the distinctive features of this literary style are clearly reflected throughout his poetry.
