Abstract

This research (the emergence of the philosophy of

Enlightenment in Europe) deals with the factors of the emergence of Enlightenment in Europe in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries AD, so the researcher defined enlightenment linguistically and idiomatically, and then explained the most important causes, factors and conditions that paved the way for the emergence of the Enlightenment philosophy, according to what the researcher sees, including: Criticism of religion and the credibility of philosophy in the European community, and sectarian fanaticism and religious wars between Christian sects, As well as the position of the church towards scholars and scientific development, the researcher also reached a set of results, including: most of the opinions of philosophers and thinkers were against the church and not against religion as a heavenly message, and it is wrong to call the events and the reality between churchmen and scholars the conflict between religion and science, as well as sectarian wars and the conflict between Philosophers and the Church were a prelude to the emergence of the European Enlightenment.
