Geographical Assessment of Green Areas Distribution in Soran City by using GIS program techniques

Abstract

There is no doubt that the green spaces located in urban centers are not a matter of discussion, but cities that are an important tourist center are where the importance of green space is twice as much as other urban centers because the residents of these cities spend most of their free time in green spaces and public parks, on the other hand, it is among the tourist attractions that provide the city's aesthetic moa re. From this point of view, planners are showing more interest in a green area in the current era, to the point where it has become an integral part of the city masterplan.

This research aims to show the reality of green spaces in the city of Soran and compare them with national and international standards while revealing each person’s share of the green space in the city. To reach the desired goal, the research was divided into four axes, which include both the research methodology, study steps and the state of the green space in Soran City. As for the last axis, it includes the geographical assessment of the state of the green space in Soran City and Its Its Future prospectives
