Abstract

Ottoman Empire assigned some qualified and expert rulers in order to perform their policy and bind Kurdish Emirates directly to Istanbul in the first half of 19th century. One of these ruler was (Mohammed Enje Bairaghdar 1834-1843) who generally had a tough attitude and position toward Kurdish Emirates, especially Soran Emirate, which had been attacked under his leadership for several times. Due to the importance of the topic and lack of an academic research, the current research has been devoted to investigate the position of the mentioned figure, therefore the research entitled; “The position (status) of Mohammed Enja Bairaghdar toward Soran Emirate”. The research aims to present the ottomans policy of the governor of Mosul Enje Baireqhdar towards the emirate of Soran and Meer Mohammed Rawanduzi. It,as well as, aims to show and analyze the attitudes of the great states towards the emirate of Soran and the crisis that was created by the governor Bairaqhdar with the emirate.
