An analysis of the hermeneutic code of the Fox in Bakhtiar Ali's novel Ship of Angels

Abstract

This paper is an attempt to interpret the meaning of “fox” as a hermeneutic code in Bakhtiar Ali's novel "Ship of Angels". The paper combines Roland Barthes’ narrative semiology and Heidegger’s ontological hermeneutics to analyze the meaning of the code and its relation to authorial intention, semiology, and ontological hermeneutics. The study addresses questions about the nature of the hermeneutic code, the fox code in the novel, its universality or context-dependence, and its effects on the reading experience. Emphasizes the importance of personal reflection and reader-text interaction in interpretation. The paper contributes to Kurdish literary criticism and highlights the role of hermeneutic codes in revealing basic meanings and dimensions, which are directed through the fox code.
