Development and Decline of Profession in Ottoman Empire

Abstract

Craft (skillfulness) was a valuable part of Ottoman economic field and it was a main factor of its industry, through this art or industry, many of the population earn and provide their daily requirements, also craft played a great role in developing exchanging (trade) activities. At the same time, there was a league which its main purpose was to organize the craftsman.

With the widens of Ottoman state different cultures from different nations met, so the craft field witnessed a great progress as a product and art and different parts of the state had role. However later on, in the middle of the 19^th century, because of some reasons, the filed went through its difficult time and extinct.
